Big Week for my Little Guys

Cam starts preschool on Wednesday.  We went to the open house yesterday afternoon.  He did well, I almost cried only once.  It was a good visit, so much so that he didn’t want to leave.  He’s so much different than Abbey & Mikel, much more needy and I’ve been praying that he’ll be ready to head off to school like a big boy when the time came.  It has come and he is ready.  He’s got his superhero bag all ready to go. 

Mikel starts flag football on Thursday.  This is a sport made for boys like Mikel.  Competitive to the core, rough & tough, full of testosterone.  Proof:  He thinks he needs to skip the baby flag stuff and go straight for the tackles.  It will be a miracle if this kids never breaks a bone.

Conversation with Cam

Cam:  Mom.

 

Me:  Yeah Bud.

 

Cam:  Do you know Michael Phelps?

 

Me:  Yes, do you?

 

Cam:  Yes I do.

 

Me:  Who is he?

 

Cam:  The world’s fastest swimmer ever.

 

Me.  You’re right, he is.  You’re smart.

 

 

There is nothing like talking current affairs with your 3-year-old.

 

What Best Friends Should Be

I’m feeling pretty lucky to have the most amazing lady as my best friend.  We’ve been through it all, and I wouldn’t change a single moment.  We’ve been friends for nearly 20 years ~ we’ve more than earned the title “BEST”.  Tosha & I had a bestest date last night, the first of many more to come.  Drinks were consumed, dinner was ate, and conversation was had that only best friends can have.  We ended the night at the movie theater watching Fool’s Gold, starring my husband.    Perfect!!!

Mikel Jeffrey.  He’s is the coolest 8 year old in the world.  I might be slightly biased.
